Press Conference on ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Certifications

In January 2010, the company decided to seek ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification for its Environment Management and Health & Safety Management Systems. After the compliance audit in March 2010, these management systems were implemented at projects and activity centers from April 2010. In September 2010 the system was subjected to external auditing. On 19 November 2010, Maga’s Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) system was certified to be in compliance with ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 international standards, enabling it to become the first construction company in the country to be accredited with both standards.
Maga announced further details regarding the awarding of the above certifications at a Press Conference held at Waters Edge, Battaramulla on 24 January 2010.
