Chairman & Managing Director

Founder and visionary of Maga Engineering, Kularatne is a graduate of the University of Ceylon. After joining the Sri Lanka Army, he rose to the rank of Captain in 1968. He later served in senior administration roles on major landmark projects including the New Parliament at Sri Jayewardenepura, the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital, and the New International Passenger Terminal at Katunayake. He established Maga Engineering in 1984 and guided the company into a market leadership position through strong construction management strategies. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers and the Institute of Chartered Business Administrators, and has also served as Chairman of the Major & Specialist Constructors of Sri Lanka.

M. Piyadasa

Chief Executive Director

Piyadasa has been a driving force at Maga from its formative years and serves as Chief Executive Director. He gained project management experience through major infrastructure developments in Sri Lanka, including the Katunayake Airport new runway, Sri Lanka-Japan Friendship (Victoria) Bridge, Mahiyanganaya Sakura Bridge, and Samanalawewa Hydro Power Project. He played a key role in expanding the Roads & Bridges division and strengthening Maga’s contribution to national infrastructure development. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Business Administrators, a member of the Project Management Institute of Sri Lanka, and holds a Master’s in Project Management from Curtin University, Australia.

Mega Kularatne

Mega Kularatne

Joint Managing Director

Mega joined the company in 2007 after working at John Holland on the Eastlink project in Melbourne, Australia. A graduate in Civil Engineering and Commerce from Monash University, he also holds a Master of Structures from the University of Melbourne. A Chartered Civil Engineer and recipient of the Late Eng. L.S. De Silva Memorial Award of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka, he heads the company’s water supply construction sector and oversees sustainability strategy, planning, development, tendering, and corporate communications.

G.V.S.K. Kumarasiri

G.V.S.K. Kumarasiri

Director Roads & Bridges

A Chartered Civil Engineer and graduate of the University of Moratuwa, Kumarasiri has worked on major projects including the Victoria Dam, Colombo-Kandy and Colombo-Galle roads, Victoria Bridge, and the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway. Since joining Maga in 2003, he has directed several landmark road projects, including the Anuradhapura–Trincomalee Road and the Matara–Wellawaya Road. He was elevated to Director Roads & Bridges in 2009 and currently oversees several large-scale road and bridge developments.

A. Thiruvalluvar

A. Thiruvalluvar

Director Construction

Thiruvalluvar is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 39 years of experience in civil engineering and construction across local and overseas projects. He joined Maga in 1991 as a Project Manager and successfully coordinated major projects including Taj Exotica Hotel, Barnes Place Residencies, and Kandy City Centre. He also led the first phase of the Grand Hyatt Hotel Project in Colombo. A graduate of the University of Moratuwa with an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, he was elevated through senior leadership roles to become Director Construction.

Roshan Madarasinghe

Roshan Madarasinghe

Director Contract Administration

Roshan oversees pre-contract evaluation, post-contract administration, commercial risk assessment, and dispute management. After working for a leading landscape design contractor in the UK, he joined Maga in 2010 and progressed to Director Contract Administration in 2014. He is a graduate of Architectural Technology from Leeds Metropolitan University and holds a Master’s in Construction Law from the University of Wolverhampton. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK and the Society of Construction Law UK.

Priya Kularatne

Priya Kularatne

Director

A graduate of the University of Kelaniya with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Priya Kularatne has experience in both the finance and education sectors through service at the Inland Revenue Department, the Treasury, and the Ministry of Education of Sri Lanka. She was appointed as a Director of Maga Engineering in 2014.
