The project comprised the rehabilitation and improvement of the 13.9km Rakwana to Madampe stretch of the A-17 Galle-Deniyaya-Madampe road. Sponsored by the OPEC Fund for International Development Project (OFID), the project is implemented by Road Development Authority.

The rehabilitation and improvement work is currently underway and on schedule to be handed over to the Road Development Authority by June 2015.
